Hello all,
I've been very the last couple of weeks since my wife arrived in Vancouver nearly eight months after we applied for family sponsorship. I am not sure if this is the place to do it, so forgive me admins, but I wanted to thank everyone on here for being so incredibly helpful from beginning to end. I know there were times when I asked a few questions that, had I just waited a bit, I would have had the answers.
For those that are unaware (probably most of you), I am a reporter for a newspaper on Vancouver Island. Shortly before my wife arrived, I did some research and found out that 333,773 people applied for Canadian permanent residency in 2017 with the top three source countries being India (74,650), China (31,201) and the Philippines (28,764).
I summarized that in a little column, which can be read here: https://www.nanaimobulletin.com/opinion/going-through-family-sponsorship-has-been-an-adventure/
Again, I wanted to thank everyone on this forum for their help and for those who are going through family sponsorship, I wish you all the best of luck. If you ever have questions you can reach me more directly at nicholas.pescod@nanaimobulletin.com (my work e-mail). I will try to come back on here periodically, but with how busy life gets, I cannot make promises.
Thank you.
