Hi,

My Thai fiancée and I are going to marry in Thailand soon. Will the Thai marriage certificate (translated to english) will be enough for CIC, of do I have to register the marriage in Canada to apply for sponsorship? In which case, I understand we'd have to wait for Canada's statistics agency paper prior to send application to Singapore.

Thanks for your help.

As long as your marriage is legal in the country where it's performed, then it's accepted by CIC.
So if you have a valid marriage certificate from Thailand, it's enough to apply for family sponsorship.
Good luck,
Sweden

Hi Maikan :)

My son and daughter-in-law took their marriage certificate and marriage registration form to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and it had it notarized the day after they were married.

Good luck and Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!!
