Dear all

I am new to this forum and most likely there is a lot of people who are also new to this great forum. Can we please fill this topic with acronyms and terms frequently used in this forum related to permanent residence/immigration to Canada and also pin the topic? There is a lot of acronyms such as PP, PPR, PC, ... etc that I spend a lot of time trying to understand what they mean.

This might sound trivial but I strongly believe it will help everyone using this forum

Good luck to all and looking forward to hear your comments

PP - PayPal
PPR - Pay Per reply
PC - Presidents choice...

Just kidding.... :P

PP - PassPort
PPR - PassPort Request
PC - Police Clearance.

Let us know if you need anything else.

You can find everything you need to know here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/tools/perm/definitions.asp

Thanks guys

Stanlee: I am aware of this page (that's why the topic has the exact same words) but there seems to be a lot of acronyms commonly used in this forum not necessarily on the CIC website and I thought it'd be useful to have all in one topic.

Let's see if members of this forum think whether this is a good thing to do

Not really. There's about 5 used regularly and people get it from the post context. Also the acronyms aren't necessarily official. Police certificate could be PC, PCC...

Yes, I agree, it is important to understand these abbreviations. There has already been posts on the same topic, check the below thread

That's exactly what I was looking for, thanks Stanlee
