Hi,

I’m in Canada on WP while my wife is on Visitor record in Canada. I recently got my WP extended and my wife visitor record also got extended. My TRV had expired early March and since I have plans to go outside Canada and then return back, to get a TRV I had submitted an online application for myself and my wife together. I have now got a message that my application is approved and have been requested for my Passport, but I did not receive any message for my wife.

For past few days I have been still waiting on my wife’s application status. I am worried now whether I had chosen the right option in the form which I have submitted for my wife (since our status are different – I’m on WP while she’s on Visitor Record).

I have submitted IMM5708 form for her and chose “Extension of my temporary resident status” in that form. Can anybody suggest me whether I need to call the call centre or do I need to wait for some more days or correct me if I need to chose different option for visa stamping.

Any suggestion is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

So you asked for an extension to her status or for a TRV?

You asked for both?

BTW your wife is not eligible to apply for TRV from within Canada, only WP and SP holders are eligible.

She already got her visitor record extended, only this we need his visa stamping needs to be done.

OK.

She has to apply abroad to get a new TRV.

You meant, she need to travel to her country and get the new TRV. Its not possible to get the new TRV when she in Canada itself.

You can send her application to a VAC abroad, for example New York.

No. Please read carefully the thread.

You-ll have to get into the specific VAC's site for answers to your questions.

Look for information on which vacs deal with each country on their websites.

For other countries than Canada use the tool
