I’m from India - Bangalore. I want to apply for a Temporary Resident Visa for a short stay in Canada.
Would like to know what are the eligibility criteria for applying a tourist visa. Also, if i get a job offer
there would it be possible to extend my stay? Please help me with the appropriate answer.

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

Here's the answer for your reference.

A) Eligibility: To visit canada, you should make a note of the following before applying for a visa. You should have a valid travel document, such as a passport, and should be in good health. You have to satisfy an immigration officer that you have ties, such as a job, home, financial assets and family, that will take you back to your country of origin and let him trust you that you will leave Canada at the end of your visit. Apart form that, you should have enough money for your stay. The amount of money you will need can vary with the circumstances of the visit, how long you will stay and whether you will stay in a hotel or with friends or relatives. If you require more information in details then you must checkout with the Canadian visa office in your country or region.

B) You may or may not need a temporary resident (visitor) visa to visit ... there is important information you need to know before you plan your trip. There are many different ways to qualify for a Work Permit. In some situations, the Canadian employer must demonstrate that they were unable to find Canadian citizens or Canadian Permanent Residents to fill the position. This way you might gonna get extend your visa.

Hope the above answer would be helpful to you. :) Thanks!

I'm filling my Canada permanent Resident application form and one of the questions says:

Have you ever applied for a temporary stay in Canada? Is this refering to a Tourism Visa?
