I just got my work permit extension approved yesterday (130days inland application) and try to apply for the temporary resident visa ASAP.
I'm going overseas in a month or so, but the processing time for the visa is 51days+visa on passport. It seems that I don't have enough time to get the visa inland.
1. My wife (on spouse open work permit) and son (visitor record) will stay in Canada. Can my wife apply for the temporary resident visa on her own and take our son as her dependent?
2. If I haven't got the visa approved when I have to go overseas, can I leave Canada and wait the visa decision overseas and send my passport for visa sticker to the nearest oversea Canada visa center?
