Temporary entry -- Canada Customs "P.I.A." stamp -- duration of visa?

A friend of mine entered the country for a stay that is intended to be about three months. She entered with her sister, who is staying for a week and then returning to her home country. My friend did not receive a stamp indicating the length of her visa -- the stamp says only "Canada Customs", and bears the date of entry and the letters "P.I.A./A.I.P."

How long is my friend's visa valid for? When should she leave the country?

what if you got six months and your visa expires before that can you stay untill the six months

Does not matter once you are in Canada already. What would count would be the allowed weeks/months of stay. The visa expiry date is the last day by which you must enter Canada.

Anyone concerned about my problem..?Me and my family went for vacation last year for 7weeks in Philippines..On the days we stayed there we received a letter form Assurance de Maladie isaying that we need to pay some amount to them by using my sons medicare card before we leave for vacation. The time we got back from vacation i called right away to Assurance de Maladie.They said me and my family were no longer elegible and not covered my the Medicare card. Then i started toasked a Big Y to myself..They asked me to checked our passport stamp..i said they put customs P>I.A/A.I.P stamps..?we are immigrants already for almost 5yrs..and its our first out to canada..anybody knows why?care to answer? ??? ???
