The short answer is no - it won't.
Teaching jobs in general are difficult to obtain since Canada has more teachers than jobs. If you take an early childhood diploma course - this won't allow you to work in most schools and you'll most likely end up with a daycare job (which don't pay that well). If you want to teach in an actual school (e.g. public elementary school), you'll need to be certified as a teacher in the province where you will be living. To do that, you typically need to complete at least a three year university degree and then typically an additional one year teachers education program.

Ah - that makes sense. I know a few people who finished in Ontario recently and they all did six years of schooling (and they couldn't find jobs).Things have changedNo more 3 year degrees only 4 year bachelors. Teacher's college is now 2 years. There seems to be a few accelerated programs out there.

Getting into teacher's college is quite difficult but the pension plan is very generous and salary is very good. There is also a surplus of teachers in many areas. Nobody can tell you what diploma to pick you'll have to look at your skills and interests and look into different options.
