Hi Folks,

Hope everyone is doing good.

Can someone please guide me on how to file taxes in Ontario, Canada?

We recently moved to Ontario from Ireland and currently looking for a job, so no Canadian earnings for now.

I was wondering if I can do my taxes on my own (how easy/tough it is?) or do I need to hire an accountant?

Taxes for 2020 won't be filed until next year. You can do it yourself - most people use online software. Google "Canada tax software" and you'll get lots of examples.

If you made no income for 2020 and only recently moved to Canada, you most likely won't be filing until 2022 for 2021.

Filing taxes for simple profiles is easy. There are multiple softwares which you can use, one of the best is SimpleTax (I have been using it for past 3 years and love it). Everything is very user friendly in it. Even if you didn't have any income in 2020 you still have to file a return in 2021. The last date to file is April 30, 2020.
