I applied to sponsor my husband back in January 5 2015. i got a letter from Canada revenue on April 13 that i owe about 2000 dollars which i plan to pay in a week or there about, but does this affect our sponsorship application? We haven't really gotten any response from the Immigration, but i hope this won't be when Immigration will check with canada revenue on if i owe any money?

No, an outstanding tax bill won't impact your application. In fact, you should have already received your Sponsor Approval by now. Have you checked eCAS?

Provide the full information if you need an objective response....your previous post in January said you applied inland and your partner was out of status when you applied. Clearly the money that you owe CRA won't affect your application...but inland sponsorship is longer and also expect even more longer processing time due to your partner's status.

Thanks for your response.
We got married on July 18 2013.
I'm a Canadian citizen.
I am self-employed and working on my B-comm degree (done in April 2016)
We sent in our application on January 5 2015
We got our acknowledgement letter in April.
He is out of status....he came in as a student (engineering student), but because his parent couldn't afford to pay his fees, he went out of status.
We have a lot ahead of us and i just want him to be able to work and finish his engineering degree.
Does anyone know how long more we have to wait?
Will him being out of status affect our application?
Also, we didn't have a huge wedding yet, as we want to be financially stable to be able to afford our dream wedding. Does this affect our application? My husband and I are quite young, will this apply? I'm just so worried. I love him so much and he feels the same way too.

him being out of status does affect in the sense that he won't get a work permit till AIP, which is around 17-18 months after you submit the application.

Thank you guys so much! this website is so helpful!!!
I don't mind him not being able to work for now.
i will take care of our finances for now...
Also, someone told me that we will be called for interview due to his status. is this true? if so, what are the questions like?
