Hi,

For citizenship eligibility, as it says may need to file personal income taxes for at least 3 years within the 5-year period

If a person files taxes for last 5 years in a single go(eg files tax since 2015 in 2020), is he still eligible
OR
it has to be filed for three separate(consecutive) years(eg 2018,2019,2020)

Thanks in advance

Taxes filed or not is the question. So filing together or separate is not a problem as its filed anyway.

Irrelevant of above topic, I am still not clear if one doesnt have income and did not file and will this create problem or not. Did not know if someone got through in this case.

That's why it is good to file tax returns even if you don't have the income. That might not be a problem, but IRCC might require additional info from you given that your income information is missing from CRA on particular year. I would pro-actively include affidavit with your application stating that the income was 0 during that particular year.
