Just wondering how would I show my spouse on the tax return if he isn't here yet. We just got married in September and we are waiting for our papers to be processed...so I am wondering if I should include him when I do my taxes in February..his not here, there is no SIN card so how am I supposed to declare this if I file with a married status :-\?? Thanks for all your input in advance

You can file tax with his name and as you are married now. There is no need to put SIN just enter 000-000-000 .

Good luck

Just to add to above, note that most likely the CRA or your provincial government will send you a letter asking you to state your spouse's out-of-Canada income in order to calculate what tax benefits you're entitled to.

Thanks for your input :)
