Hi all

(First time poster here) My mom arrived in Canada again this year on a super visa. The CBSA officer told her that her medical exam/status isn't valid anymore. What's the paperwork to do for this -- which forms should we fill out first before approaching a panel physician in my city? I want to make sure it gets linked to her correctly.

Thanks
Sharad

Did she extend her stay last time she visited Canada? If so was a request to complete another medical part of the requirement for the extension even if she had already left Canada at that point? Did she complete the medical if this was the case? Has she always taken out supervisa insurance every year she has s
eny visiting Canada on a supervisa? Did she arrive in Canada with supervisa insurance and proof of the supervisa insurance this visit? There isn’t a requirement to do a yearly medical if you have a supervisa so not sure why the border agent requested that she do a medical. A medical is often requested when you try to extend a visit and can be requested if there is a change of health but that should be a written request from IRCC. I would personally send in a webform to IRCC explaining that upon entry your mother was told that she didn’t have a valid medical on file and that she needed one and clarify whether that is actually the case. Normally you would receive a written request to complete a medical. If not, I would not rush to complete one before you know it is 100% required as long as she purchased the 1 year of supervisa insurance before entering Canada.
