This is an older post, but I have a differing opinion on this. The form states country of origin "or" of residence. Which means it has to be one or the other. To put it simply, travel has to be entered if you were traveling away from where your residence was at that time.
For me, when I was living in my home country, I listed trips that I was taking away from there. Then I spent 5 years living in the US. So I listed trips I took away from the US while the US was my country of residence (these included trips back to my home country). This corresponds with my personal history where I've listed the US as my residence.
Finally, now I listed trips I took away from Canada (including those to my home country).
