Hi

I would like my mom to come and spend some time with me. However she does not have any ties to her home country. Additionally I do not have any solid reason I can think of for her coming. I presently live alone. Can anyone give me some guidance or advice on how I can proceed under these circumstances?

I don't think that she needs to have strong ties to her country to get the super visa,
It will help if when she is interview she express that her family and friends are in her country,
but she wants to spend time with you ..... Interview is very important for any visa,
and she will be asked about her intentions to stay in Canada, but normally an older person
does not want to live anywhere else, but just visit. If she expresses intentions to stay permanently
then she may get refused...
Her intentions to return are the best indicator to give her the visa.
Spend time with your mother is more than enough reasons for you to invite her,
and also to show her around and take her to different places. And after you take her to visit
some places and she has shared with you for the time that you want her to visit you, then
she can return home.
Remember that you have to buy health insurance for visitors while she is in Canada,
Health care is expensive and she will be asked to provide proof of health insurance
You can Google, Health insurance for visitors to Canada and will find several providers,
the time that she will be visiting will give you the cost, the longer she stays the more expensive
the insurance will be.

Yes the cost of health insurance left us opting for a regular TRV over the super-visa. None required for just a TRV. In the end we were granted until the full expiry of my MIL's passport anyway.
