Supervisa Insurance - Cancel or Keep?

So I got a supervisa insurance for my parents back in 2019 and ever since the supervisa was issued in 2020, I have kept pushing the insurance start date because my parents have been unable to travel - either due to COVID or due to health issues. I am unsure if they will be able to in the near future.

So my question is, do I keep or cancel the plan?

More specifically, do they ask for supervisa insurance when my mom and dad enter Canada?

Yes, it's possible CBSA could ask for proof of insurance when they arrive. It's fine to cancel the plan. Just make sure you buy a new once if and when they decide to come to Canada.

Having supervisa insurance is a requirement for entering on a supervisa. They can be denied entry because of the lack of supervisa insurance which would cause lots of issues for any further travel throughout the world and if they ever get sick on a supervisa without supervisa insurance expect future visits to Canada to be much more difficult. Yo
I also would end up with a significant bill. The privilege of a longer stay associated with a supervisa comes with one major requirement which is purchasing supervisa insurance every year when they are in Canada.
