As per latest update due to covid-19 (the immediate family members of the Canadians are allowed to enter Canada ) so do we as the parents of a Canadians citizen come under this category and allowed to come to Canada .Please clarify

Definition of immediate family member

1 In this Order, immediate family member, in respect of a person means

(a)  the spouse or common-law partner of the person;

(b)  a dependent child of the person or of the person’s spouse or common-law partner; or

(c) a dependent child of a dependent child referred to in paragraph (b)‍.


Then IRCC confused matters with exemptions

These exemptions follow others announced earlier this week, for

• close family members of Canadian citizens
• close family members of Canadian permanent residents

Still think close refers to immediate family members and not parents or siblings but sure others will have a view given a Super Visa is in effect a extended visitor visa..

Just to add that even if you were able to come to Canada your health insurance may not now include cover for anything to do with COVID. Many articles in the press of insurance companies either suspending applications for new policies completely or specifically excluding COVID

No - you do not come under the immediate family category. No - unfortunately you will not be allowed to board a flight and come to Canada.
