Super Visa Renewal Due to Passport Expires

Hello,
I have a few question regarding the Super Visa of my mother. She got her SuperVisa in 2017 and it expired last month Jan 2020 as her passport expired. I'm planning to renew her supervisa next month. Given the situation, I have a few questions
1, Will a renewal application be exactly the same steps with her first visa application (like I did 3 years ago)?
Which mean
2, Will she need to do remedical exam for this time? (for Vietnamese citizen)?

She would be applying for a new supervisa and yes a medical will be required if she hasn’t had one in 1 year.
