hi guys,

my mother in law has applied for super visa and she got it approved and issued for 4 years until 2017. i think the reason she got 4 years because we are permanent residents and our pr card expiring in 2017.

my question, can she stay up to 2 years without leaving canada?

She would have to ask this question to the immigration officer she encountered at the airport/border.

First from my experience dealing with my clients Citizenship and Immigration Canada will not stamp a passport beyond the expiry date, I don't think it has anything to do with you. But then again strange things do happen and I am not an immigration expert. Secondly in most cases the super visa will allow for visits of up to two years, but I have been told by other members on this site this may not always be the case. You can check the passport to see how long the visa is valid for this will answer your question.

Hope this helps.
Good Luck
