Hello,

my parents have been in Canada for a year now on the supervisa. Their insurance is coming due in a few days. I want to know the following:

1) if I buy a 6 month plan with 5,000,000 coverage will that cause issues when I send in an application to extend their stay next year as they were granted two years upon entry. Do I have to buy something for 365 days coverage?

2) which is the best option for their insurance coverage renewal? I am trying to shop around but am having a hard time figuring out which company to go for. I definitely want them to be covered for the entire time they’re here.

please advise thanks

1. Since it is a Super Visa, it is always better to take or renew the policy for a year. But why are you taking a 5M coverage? Did you take the same coverage for the first year?
2. Options depend on the health condition and age.

100k coverage is required but not enough to cover a major health incident so people still end up with laege bills. Not sure if 5M in coverage is necessary but would think 1M is better than 100k. Really depends on your personal financial situation you have lot of extra savings. You should be taking out another 1 year policy.
