Is supervisa automatically issued for a period of 10 years?

Or do I have to specify the duration of it? Or do they issue it until passport expiry date?

Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

No - it's not automatically issued for 10 years. The visa cannot be longer than the passport duration.

Ok. That's what I thought.
So they issue the super visa to a maximum length of the validity of passport. Is that correct?
But we can buy insurance only for one year? And then extend the insurance if needed.

Yes that is exactly what you would do but for one year and extend if needed. Just be careful some insurance companies policies are not renewable after one year.

OK, thanks for reply!

Just a follow up question - do we use the same application for TRV Visa (single/multiple) and SuperVisa? Is there a tick box or anything to let them know which visa are we applying for?

thanks again

The application is the same as the visitors to Canada, I don't believe their is a check box but you need to specify super visa on the application. In addition you also need to include an insurance certificate for one year with the application.

I was told by some of my clients that Citizenship and Immigration Canada has made some improvements to their site that now ask for supporting documents for ties to the country of origin. I think this is great, I had to spend a lot of time with clients telling them to get their documents in order prior to submitting their super visa application. Now Citizenship and Immigration Canada will allow you to upload these supporting documents with the super visa or visitors to Canada application. I am sure going forward you can see more improvements to streamline the process to allow more visitors to Canada.
