I am studying m.eng mechanical at uottawa and it is a joint program with Carleton University , I started in winter 2018 . Sir my doubt is , in my offer letter it is written that the program duration is 2 to 4 years but can be completed in 12 consecutive months and i have no compulsion to enroll in summer term by my course or graduate studies as long as i enroll for fall 18. So as there are only 6 courses (as compared to 37 courses in winter session) (and carleton university is not offering courses in summer term)which are also not of my interest ,so if i take this summer off what will be the implications of this step in terms of post graduate work permit and ability to work in this summer.
