Submitting documents for spouse/common law partner.

I'm just going through my checklist of documents to send. Where it specifies to send documents ie passports for spouse etc, do I have to send my husband's documents in if he's my sponsor or is this only in the case of where both husband and wife are applying for PR?

just follow the checklist and you have to send all the documents to CIC at once. If they request husband passport copy then you have to send it with the application

yes, the sponsor needs to send a copy of his passport (identity document). it is on the sponsor's checklist.

the sponsor does not have to submit anything that is not on the SPONSOR'S checklist, so don't get confused with instructions on the applicant forms for "spouse and family members". for application purposes, your spouse is your sponsor. You are correct that when it calls for a "spouse" to fill out applicant forms, it is not referring to a spouse who is a sponsor.
