submitting application - question

I am ready to send of my PR spouse sponsor application to Mississauga.

I am waiting for police clearance certificates from USA only - can I submit the application with proof of application that I applied for a police cerrtificate and a note indicating I will submit the clearance certificate when received? Can I add this document to my file afterwards?

is there any deadline which you have to meet for submitting the application? if not, than i will prefer that you should wait as in both cases you application will be delayed. However, it will be more convenient if you submit all documents all together

If you have to meet a deadline than you can add a letter of explanation along with relevant documentation and subsequently when you receive the PCC from USA, you can raise a Case specific enquiry and submit the document through it.

Wait for the document then submit. Processing time starts only after CIC receives a complete application so there's no point in sending it now.

Thank you to both of you for taking the time to respond. No deadline to meet just don't want to be away from my wife for another 4 months. After some thought, probably smarter waiting and sending in the application. On the plus side - I can build an even stronger file.

Yes, you can submit the app now with proof that you've applied for the PCC. There is no need to wait.

The app will not be delayed. CIC will process the first stage of the app and forward it on to the VO, as applicant PCCs are not required when evaluating the sponsor.

Also, PCCs cannot be submitted through a CSE; the original document must be mailed to CIC.

Canuck thanks!- I finally got thru to the CIC help line today. I was told the same thing - to file the application with proof of applying for the PCC. I was also told not to mail in the PCC until I was asked to do so ......

Should I still check the box on the document check list and attach a note to the document?

This is interesting. Has anyone else heard this? I just got in my PCC and was going to send it off but I haven't been asked to do so yet.

I think k when I have AOR and FBI in hand I'm going to call CIC. This confuses me too

The call centre sucks. There is no need to wait for it to be requested. Once the app has been transferred to the VO, you can mail the PCC in with a cover letter, making sure to incude all of your details, UCI, file number etc. so they can attach it to your app.

Yes, I would tick the box and include an explanation letter and proof you've applied for the PCC.

I have been through posts on this forum stating their application was rejected for missing PCC. But, there are instances where CIC requested PCC as well from other candidates.

The speculation for PCC request totally depends on the visa officer and CIC interests in your application.

Thanks for the info, that PCC can not be submitted through CSE.

No. Mississauga doesn't need it and if the VO doesn't have your app yet, they don't have a file to attach it to, so it would probably get lost.
