Submitted pr profile..background check in progress. Passport renewal?

Hi All

My husband passport is valid till May 2018. We have submitted our pr application last month. Status is showing as background check is in progress.

My husband is secondary applicant. Can we get his passport renewed now ? Or should we do it after getting our pr card?

PR cards will be issued based on the passport number provided during application.
In case of any alterations, CIC must be intimated upon such changes through CSE (Case Specific Enquiry). Use the below link for raising the case.

Also draft a well composed letter of explanation for the changes being made.
