Hi All

Quick question, My wife (Canadian) and myself (Australian) have completed all the forms for the Spousal Sponsorship for permanent residency, now the question is with myself applying out of country are her Sponsor forms and my application forms plus all the extras to be sent in to Mississagua at the same time?

It would be nice to have some clarification on this as my wife believes she saw someting saying that she has to be approved before i start at my end, and all I have seen is everything has to be sent at the same time :-[

You have to send everything together as one package to Mississauga - both the sponsor and applicant forms. If you only send the sponsor forms, the application will be returned as incomplete. You need to provide the entire application up front.

Hi jason
I believe everything should be sent in together. If application is incomplete they will return it. So your forms and her with other documentation must be completed and send in to Mississauga....

The process:
1. Send all the forms together (Sponsorship forms and Application for Permanent Resident)
2. CIC will look into the eligibility of your wife to sponsor. Once approved, CIC will forward the application forms and documents to the Canadian Embassy in Australia.
3. The Canadian Embassy in Australia will evaluate your files, and once approved, you get the Certificate of Permanent Residency (COPR).
