Hi all,

Is it complicated to apply for student visa if you are already married to a Canadian resident?
Should you apply for the visa first before you apply for the school or after?
How long does it usually takes to get the visa and the process.

Your answers will be highly appreciated. Thank you!

Hi,

Applying is not difficult but chances of approved visa are less as immigration looks for students who will return to their home country which is highly doubtful with partner having PR.

Regarding your second question, you cannot apply for visa prior to admission as letter of acceptance from college is mandatory for visa application.

Processing times vary from country to country and can be found on cic website.

Since your partner is a resident of Canada why dont u ask him/her to send you a sponsorship letter for family visa. Once you reach there you can try to convert it to student visa. Not sure if you can convert it to student visa but i think it should be possible
