I applied for project management course at centennial college for fall intake and I got rejection last week. The rejection letter reasons are as follows-
• whether the person has been accepted to study at a Canadian educational institution; the information in the travel and identity documents; the person’s ability to pay for the trip, to pay tuition fees and to support himself or herself while in Canada; whether the person is likely to respect the conditions of his or her admission to Canada; whether the person is inadmissible to Canada; and whether the person would be likely to leave Canada.
For my bad the agency's negligence also contributed for my unfortunate visa denial, they forgot to upload the college offer letter and they did not recommend me to have gic (they said it is not compulsory). I plan to reapply for january intake this time very seriously by taking all procedures. I am planning to go for masters program in Master of Information Systems Security Management at University of Concordia, Edmonton. I need your valuable advise for my profile. My profile is--

I am 32 years unmarried, b.com mba graduate with job experience of 8 years in investment banking as a team leader. Ielts marks is overall 7 band, I have strong academic back ground. I want to study in Canada because I would like to study the cousrse I want to study. Gain some experience and come back to India. I strongly have family ties and I am finacially well off. Now my question is how are the visa chances for my profile? If I prepare strong SOP and showing necessary funds and documents like property papers,my tax pay slips. How can I make my case strong? I am worried and confused as someone told me that my age is a factor. Please seniors clear my confusions and guide me.
Thanks in advance.

Hey Koli,

Really sorry to hear that your application was rejected. It must have been a big disappointment, specially since you have such a strong profile! Reading through your profile, the only thing that came to my mind was Express Entry, as you seem to be a very good candidate for that.

On a different note, You are planning to study Masters in Information Systems, this is totally different from the work that your are doing right now (investment banking) so that is a big weakness in your application. You need to first understand and then convince the Visa Officer that this is the right way to go. Remember that you have already been rejected once.

I also did not catch the degree program that you had chosen for this fall at Centennial. If it is a different degree from your future one, then it will also land you into trouble, because the VO might look at your old file and find out that you have changed your mind, and you are not very passionate about your new degree.

About age, I have not heard this info before that people who are older would get rejected for their visa, maybe some other memembers in this forum can comment on that.

So in summary, to my understanding, Visa Officers are lawfully able to deduce your application "SUBJECTIVELY" rather than "OBJECTIVELY" so its not just a matter of how much money you show or how much GIC you have, but it is also about why this course will make a difference to your career in "real terms"

Hope this info helps.
