Hi , I desperately need help .I have applied for student visa within canada (imm5709) and I have been rejected . The reason" I am not satisfied you meet requirments of Imigration and Refugee Protection Act and Regulations. Your application has been refused.
You are not a person described in Immigration Legistlation who can apply for this type of document within canada . An application of this type must be made at a canadian visa office in another country.
Your status in canada is valid till july 2018.
I came as tourist the visa is valid till 2020 but as regulation I ve to stay 6 months till july 2018.
Do I have to exted my visa for another 6 months and then to apply for study permit in order to apply within canada ?
Thank you

You were correctly refused. The refusal letter clearly tells you why - so not sure why you are confused about the reason. Specifically: "You are not a person described in Immigration Legistlation who can apply for this type of document within canada . An application of this type must be made at a canadian visa office in another country."

As the refusal letter states, you cannot apply for a study permit from within Canada as a visitor. Your application must be processed through either the visa office responsible for your home country or through a visa office in the US.

And to answer your question - no, extending your visitor status won't help. Again, you don't meet the requirements to submit an application for processing within Canada.

I got confused as my understanding for the below condition for study permit within canada was to have a touristic visa valid 6 months and that's why I thought I didn't fullfill it so I got refused
  • holders of temporary resident permits (TRP) valid for a minimum of six months and their family members
