I’ve applied for study permit&sowp since July 1,2024 and no response yet,our application shows that “eligibility review has started” and it has been like that for months,we are unable to do a lot of things due to the delay in our extension,we’ve called our MP and IRCC but it seems nothing is working…What do you guys think I can do at this point?

So your title says nothing about extension so was it a new study permit and SOWP within Canada?

My husband is a student,he applied before he finished his studies and I applied for SOWP,we applied together actually

Okay because post wasn't clear so he had to extend his study permit. Currently processing is over 200 days so not much you can do but wait. If your MP is involved then they can find out status. Has he finished his studies?

It’s over 300 days since we applied…Going to a year now…Yes,he has finished,we were told he can’t apply for PGWP without the extension

He can apply for PGWP but cannot work. Your SOWP will likely be refused since he has has graduated and will need an eligible job for you to get SOWP. Once he got completion letter he had to stop working.

But we don’t know how long it’s going to take because he won’t be given the authorization letter,hence,he can’t work until he gets his PGWP…what do you think we can do?

So he can wait up to 90 past getting the completion letter and hope that he gets extension approval before then. If approved then can apply for PGWP and work. If extension doesn't come within 90 days then must apply for PGWP and cannot work.

Did he change programs or schools? Citizenship? What did MP say but don't need to do anything? Could hire a lawyer and file writ of mandamus but only a few months over processing times.

He didn’t change program and school,Mp said they’ve started eligibility review and we’ve passed criminality check,but this has been there since months and no recent updates…What’s the writ of mandamus about please? ….Our MSI has expired,right now we can’t do a lot of things,this is so frustrating…Help please!

Get an immigration lawyer about filing a writ. It is for applications that have taken longer than normal.

hi i am applying recently for student visa, due to incomplete documentation, it was rejected with in three weeks, i now gathered the required documents and ready for apply, my sister is sponsor, do i need to submit FRC (family registration certificate) or is it enough to submit the Form-B? i am from pakistan
please give me urgent and honest sincere advice
