Study Permit

I am an Indian citizen living in Oman and already have a valid visit/tourist visa for Canada. I am now transferring from my university in California to Uvic. I have been accepted by Uvic and have applied for my study permit.

Question: Can i travel to Canada on my valid tourist visa and then wait for my study permit while in Canada before starting at my collage???

Sure but it is pretty risky to enter Canada unless you have the study permit. You may not get your permit at all or in time for this semester. You could only bring luggage for a visitor. If you bring studying supplies you could be refused entry.
