I have a question.I am from India studying in Memorial in a 4 years degree programme on a study permit as an international student. This is my final year of studies. Now my study permit expired last september 2011.I was completely unaware of this fact as I was having lots of family related problems and my focus was on it.So I came to know about it on april 2012.But as soon as I knew,I left Canada immediately. Now I am in India and want to apply for study permit to complete the rest of my degree.I read so many forums that say students who overstay will not be able to get into Canada ever again. My parents spend lots of money for my study and I do not want to destroy their dreams. Can anyone help as to what should I do??...I dont know how to make the VO understand that It was just an accident and I didnt do it intentionally.
Did any1 actually overstayed their visa and granted re-entry to Canada in here..
please help..

Apply for a new SP and make this point clear in SOP. If you have not been doing any job in this period explain it that you were actually studying and not doing jobs. There is nothing much you can do.

You have to give it a shot.Apply for the re-entry and back your points up with atleast some docs to prove that you are actively studying during the overstayed period.

Thanks for your valuable suggestions.I have 1 more question. How many years does a ban for me apply in Canada anyway?

And I actually had an off-campus work permit on which I was working as well besides studying!...
