Hii,
PMM i need Ur advice..Me and my spouse both came on study permit in Canada.But now i changed my mind to convert my study permit into open work permit. is it possible..? my wife is a full time student at university. plz guys help me. I didn't want to pay international fee for both of us.

Hi,

Yes, you can change. Your OPW shall be valid as long as your spouse study permit. And after that you should NOT expect any OPW based on your spousal PGWP.

No - a student cannot change his visa category at anytime.

If you are currently a student and wish to switch over to full time employment, then as a first step, your employer will have to submit a Labour Market Opinion (LMO) for approval. If the LMO is approved, you can then submit a work permit application. If your work permit is approved, you can then start working full time.

See enfield's reply to your question above. Your situation is different than boota's because your wife is a student in Canada as well.
