convert study permit to open work permit

Hi all,

I am international full time university student in Canada. My wife is also a international student. She came a year before me. I came on a visitor visa in July 2012. A week later, I applied for a study permit, which was approved.

Now i changed my mind to convert my study permit into open work permit. is it possible..?
