Hi everyone,

So I applied for my visa on the 25th of June and got a response within 12 hours stating that

• I am not satisfied that you have sufficient funds, including income or assets, to carry out your stated purpose in coming to Canada or to maintain yourself while in Canada and to effect your departure.

I had CAD 25000 in the bank fixed deposit account under my brother's name who acts as my sponsor. The program I applied was for 3 years.

Now I have planned to reapply for a 1 year program which is about CAD 16,140 (2 semesters)
I will pay the first semester fee of CAD 8100 and show the CAD 25000 fixed deposit as the remaining for my second semester and one year expenses.
Would this be sufficient? Or do I need to improve my funds?

I will need your valuable input as I don't wanna fail the second time.

Thank you. This is much appreciated in a really terrible time for me.
May everyone who are reading through this and planning to apply get your visas and achieve your dreams!

It is insufficient. You need more funds in your name. Paying 8100 CAD fees with no savings to support yourself is not enough.

Could you please share which country you applied from?

Why not pay for the full year? I assume that the amount is refundable in case your application is rejected, right?

Also your brother's money is not your own. Are you sure you are unable to obtain a GIC from Sri Lanka?
Did you try calling a Canadian bank like CIBC and asking them if it's possible? 1 year tuition + GIC would surely be 100% successful.
