My cousin has applied for a study permit. He was being sponsored by his uncle and me (PR in Canada) for his education. But, his initial application was refused based on financial assets and family ties. He is working on re applying and he has added additional evidences to satisfy the officer that he has all the funds needed for a study (already paid tuition for a semester before his initial application, added additional banking information etc. However, he could not figure out on how to answer the family tie concern (of course he stated how attached he is with his family and some property documents from parents), But i am his cousin and also his IRCC custodian (he is 16 years old). I am PR here in canada , but initially had applied for a refugee protection few years ago.

Because i claimed asylum years ago and now i am his half sponsor and custodian, will this affect his acceptance rate?
has anyone read such justifications from an officer on a GCMS note before?

if so, how do we tackle this issue,

Thank you
