Hi guys

Asking for a friend from Lebanon:

He says that with the current banking crisis where they're only allowed to withdraw few hundreds dollars each month (or couple of months), it would be unwise to deposit money in his bank account. He's been getting is salary in cash for the past year; so is there a way, in addition to bank statement, to show cash as proof of funds?

Any help on this issue will be appreciated by him and me

Thank you

And how will show them? By taking picture and attach with the Study Permit application? I dont think cash qualifies as PoF for the immigration purpose… Proof of Ownership will be big challenge

Does he not get payslips? He can use that as proof and explain about the banking situation.

He should get GIC as advised above, but 50k is just ridiculous and an overkill. The normally required 10k is enough.

Explaining about banking situation is straight rejection, due to uncertain / unstable situation in home country, don't lead your VO to that path.

Just deposit total envisaged cost of education and living in GIC account whether 50K or below.

Lebanon is not eligible for SDS, so even he gets a GIC account, he will still need to show the source of the funds in the form of bank statements, payslips, other investments etc.
