Study Permit Processing: Resubmitted Application After Withdrawal

Hi everyone,


I am from Iran and I have a fully funded admission from the University of Ottawa for Winter 2026. My application was withdrawn on August 26 because the university was unable to validate the letter of admission within the prescribed deadline, as the IRCC portal was unavailable on that day. The university apologized and provided a letter explaining the issue.


I resubmitted my application on August 30, attaching all the previous documents along with the new letter.


I’m wondering what the likelihood is of receiving a study permit before January. Any insights or similar experiences would be greatly appreciated.

Low - current processing is 38 weeks. The issue is that it takes a long time to get immigration and security information from Iran.

Agree with the chances but depending on your specialization (assume masters or PhD) that could lead to even longer delays.
