Study Permit | Old Passport

Hi everyone..
finally I filled my study permit application last Thursday for the Jan 2012 session for Masters. However, I am concerned about one thing. The IMM5483E-Doc Checklist does not ask for previous passports, but the website for CHC Islamabad asks for all previous original passports. Now here is the trouble. I had one previous passport, the hand made which expired in 2008. I have never traveled on that passport and I also did not send it along with my study permit application. I have only sent the current machine readable passport as the previous one was misplaced. Luckily though, I have found my previous passport as well. So what shall i do?

1- TCS it to CHC Islamabad ASAP with reference to my new passport
2- Shall I email CHC Islamabad and ask them directly
3- Do nothing and site back until they ask for it

I am concerned as already I don't have much time.... :s

You only need to provide photocopies of your old passport no need to send originals.

Two Options :

1. Send it through Visatronix using your same reference number, Name, Date Of Birth, Passport Number

2. Fax it using your same reference number, Name, Date Of Birth, Passport Number

* Photocopy only.

You do not need to send the Previous Passport to the CHC . It is absolutely not required .

If photocopies is all what they need, why do they ask for it in the first place, because every new passport has the previous passport number on it. And using a photocopy they can get nothing more except for the previous passport number :s

by the way... I am applying for the University of Waterloo, Ontario.

And about the old passports requirement, check out the fifth last item of this list o CHC Islamabad's website:

The following items are required for a complete application:

-The application form must be completely and accurately filled out, including the Supplementary Information Form PDF * (38 KB) (also referred to as the Family Composition form).
-Correct fee payment – Green receipt must be submitted.
-Letter of acceptance from the educational institute in Canada (original and one copy).
-Proof of sufficient funds for your studies and stay in Canada.
-Police Certificate from each country or territory where you have lived for six consecutive months or longer since reaching the age of 18.
-All previous educational documents (only originals are accepted).
-Proof of employment for yourself or your parents.
-If you will be attending an educational institute in the province of Quebec, you must provide a CAQ (certificate d'acceptation du Quebec) from the Government of Quebec (see Quebec Immigration)
-Original valid passport, preferably for the total length of intended studies.
-All previous passports (originals).
-2 recent passport-sized photographs. The name and date of birth must be written on the reverse of the photograph.
-Copies of Valid Passport (pages bearing name and picture).
-Copy of National Identity Card for each applicant.
-For Afghan nationals: a copy of the Tazkara for each applicant, as well as a completed Afghanistan Questionnaire PDF * (103 KB).

my application reached CHC on the 10th 10 AM as per TCS records.

Who said.. they require old passport copies only..?? They require original passports attached all together with new readable. They de-attach it and if there are any visas on it, they verify it from concerned embassies. I have sent them earlier when I applied first time, and sent it this time too..

as far as i.imran issue is concerned. Don't send them now. As you have not traveled on that passport, so won't make any difference.

The fact that the mention on CHC Islamabad's website to apply 2-3 months before and not later than atleast 1 month before your classes start. I have left it all on Allah.... may Allah chose the best path for me. Aameen!

true i have left it on Allah as well! as we have applied on consecutive days! keep in touch and do update us/me when you have any news.. Good luck
