Does anyone had a successful experience applying for a study permit from within Canada?

I wonder if having passed a short-term course, like English for business, will allow me to apply from here to continue my studies in another -designated institution.

See: "students who have completed a short-term course or program of study that is a condition for acceptance at a designated institution"[/b]

* an additional remark is that I am in a common-law relationship with a Canadian citizen. Does this help?

Thanks for the advise

No - the English course won't allow you to apply for a study permit within Canada. To qualify the course you take must be a pre-requisite for entry into the program.

No - having a common law relationship with a Canadian makes no difference.

Thanks so much for your reply. Now, what is considered a pre-requisite? Or where can I find that official information?

Try this link, especially the section concerning 'Letter of Explanation'.
