Study permit for a minor child.

I have a work permit based on a LMIA, my wife recently got approved for her open work permit. But my 4 kids, ages 9, 7, 4 and 4 have not Visa yet. How difficult is to get their study permits applications approved?. And how much money do I need to show in order to get them approved?

Minors don't need study permits if they are here with a parent who is on a work permit. You can simply take them to school and they will be admitted.

They will need a TRV (visitor visa), which will be easy to get since their parents both have approved work permits. Then, when you land, you ask the CBSA officer to give them a visitor record which matches your work permit.

If you forget to do this, they will be admitted for six months and you'll have to request an extension before the six months are up. It's easier to do it at the airport when you arrive, and this is a routine request that CBSA will essentially always grant (unless CBSA denies your entry for some reason).

That's all you need to do.

Thanks for you answe. But my children are not here is Canada they are back home. Thay required visas to get here. I am from Dominican republic.

When I was student in a college I applied for visitor visas and they were refused and the note from the officer said that two of my kids have school age and they required study permit. The note said that visitor record only applies for minor who are already in Canada.

School is free for your children. It is unknown if there will be concerns about your level of savings when applying for a TRVs for your children. It is a different situation then when you were a student. AsI pointed out having 4 you g children and making 50K while living in Vancouver will be extemely challenging. Childcare costs may prevent your wife from being able to work unless she works when you can be at home with the children or you get a second job.
