IF YOU ARE SURE OF YOUR INFORMATION
hii i got my study permit on 23-10-2019.
i was accepted conditionally for computer programmer at Algonquin college because i didn't have IELTS so it was required to be registered in ESL (English as a second language) at Algonquin to have the required level and then i will be unconditionally accepted. so when i arrived to the borders the officer told me he can't give me study permit for 2 years. and he gave me study permit for 1 year with a condition that i am not allowed to work off-campus. and he told me to finish my ESL then apply for extension for my study permit and change the condition of working off-campus.
now as i am talking i am done with the language course and i got my acceptance letter and i am ready to apply for the extension.
but somewhere i saw that if i applied now for the extension it will be refused because it is too early. and i have to wait for 1 month before the current study permit expires.
so anyone who is sure with his information can help me. i need to know if i can apply now for the extension. my program starts on may. and can i at least change the work off campus conditions now if i can't apply for extension or extension and changing conditions has to be done together. thank you

1. No, the 30 days is a suggestion only. (Usually when you are applying for an extension, CIC asks you to apply 30 days in advance, but legally you can apply as long CIC receives your application before it expires)
2. So you have finished your ESL, now you apply for an extension for the regular study permit.

Okeyy thanks a lot i hope all go well.
Do u think the extension is as much hard as applying to the study permit? Because i heard it s easy and rarely to be refused

hii i have a question:
i wrote this thread and i need to check if now is the right time to apply for my study permit extension, despite the coronavirus outbreak.
thank you for answering a reliable answer.
