Hi Guys,

I have a study permit valid from October 2016-November 2018 (two years program).

I finished my program earlier (15 months-February 2018) and I got enrollment into another program (May 2018) which has a predicted duration of 9 months (until May 2019).

I am looking to apply for a study permit extension since my current visa expires November 30, 2018.

Do you think there will be any problem that I started the second program within the same study permit?

I spoke with two different CIC agents back in May, they told me it is fine. College told me the same.

Please help me by sharing your thoughts.

Thank you in advance!!

There are no restrictions in switching schools or programs at the post secondary level unless there is some restriction that was put on your study permit. You just need to update myCIC if you switch schools. So this will not affect expension application as long as you meet other conditions.
