My wife was a post graduate student and after completing her diploma she has applied for a study permit extension for new program. And with her I have applied for a work permit as a dependent. It has been 48 days to today and there has been no update on our account since. When we check the processing time on the portal, it says it takes 32 days for the application to get processed and the last update on this information has been updated on July 1st saying application from 29th may is processing. Even though it says the information get updated weekly that is not the case. Our current Visa and permits ends on end of this month.
I am wondering what is the best course of action here for me. I am worried that, We will not be able to get the permits on time and I may have to quit my job and my wife may have to leave her CO-OP. And also as a fail safe, In case application got denied, is it possible for her to apply for her post grad work permit, while we stay in Canada ?
