It is a lot to explain. My passport and my study permit are expiring sometime June 2021,that's a year from now, and I am finishing my studies may 2022. My problem here is that I am going on a exchange to Germany for a full year, that'll be September 2020- July 2021 (This is part of an exchange program from my university in Canada, that means I am a student in Canada during that time). That means that I will have to renew my passport before leaving to Germany and get a study permit for Germany as well. I need to apply at least three months before going to Germany. So I will need to have my new passport by June 2020. So here are my questions. If I renew my passport in march 2020 and get it April 2020, do I have to apply for a new study permit/extension even thought it is still valid with my old passport. If I do have to apply, can I do it right after I get my new passport? I am aware you can only apply 90 days before it is going to expire, does this rule changes if you no longer have your old passport attached to the Study Permit. I do not want to lose my status as a student but I am worried about what is the process. What is my best option for this? I have been trying to talk with the immigration advisors at my university and they are absolutely helpless, also I tried calling immigration Canada and they never reply. I really hope someone can help me, thank you.
