Study permit expiring soon. Still waiting for a new permit.

Hi guys,

So my study permit is about to expire on Sept 21, 2017, but I still have 2 more semesters of studying left. I'm currently in India, and I have applied, online, for a new permit 7 weeks ago (for 8 months). On August 16th, I got a message from CIC asking me to go for a medical checkup (although I did not stay in India for more than 4 months in the past 4 years). I just got back from the medical test centre, and I'm not sure how long it will take from here. I'm worried I might have to miss the Fall semester as classes begin on Sept 7th.

What do you guys suggest I do? Can I go to Canada and wait for approval there? Or should I just wait here?

although may depend on where application is from, i applied some three weeks ago and got approved in less than 48 hours. note that my application was within Canada..

you'll get it in 2 weeks im sure.
