My study permit has expired and I have applied for extension but my study is completed. I am waiting for my document from the university to apply for work permit. If I apply for my work permit while the extension is in process would I be able to work, before I get my work permit. I was a bit worried as I have heard that the current processing time for work permit is 5 months and having to spend 5 months without any earnings would be difficult.
