It's been a week since I arrived in Canada for college, few days ago I tried to apply for my SIN number, however I was told I couldn't get it since it wasnt stated in my study permit that I could work 20hrs while in school or 40 on breaks, as title says the section on my study permit is completely blank, it doesnt say anything, I had a meeting with a Canada service representative at my school and he told he had never seen that happen before, however my study permit was still valid and so I'm currently studying, however I'm not able to work, or open a bank account or get a cellphone plan.
I was told to call IRCC and ask for an amendment however Ive had no such luck being contacted to an actual human being, im perpetually on hold, I've also try researching how long does an amendment process last and it seems that it last around a 1 month or 2 if you are lucky.
I was wondering if theres an alternative to get it corrected? Since its blank wouldnt it be easy to print on it the correct conditions? An acquaintance of mine that had a similar problem told me who had to leave the country and reenter so he could go through immigration again and ask to get it sorted. Is that a possibility?
