Hey guys, my question is, when I receive my Authorization letter to enter Canada to get my student permit from the airport there, can I leave right away from my home country, Spain? Even if I get the letter to enter Canada 4-5 months earlier (?) since the letter doesn't include an entry date.

I've been accepted for next year and already made the study permit application. I get it, it's early. Another question is, being from a visa-exempt country, can I get there as a tourist for six months, before my permit is issued and then re-entry Canada when it's approved? I can prove that I have the sufficient funds to support myself.

1. You do not need visa to 'enter' Canada, but to stay you must convince IO at POE that you will pack your bag back to your country at the end of your visit.

Thanks JSM. I would be having an airplane ticket to leave. Would it be a problem that I'd be having a study permit application in progress?
