Hey guys! I got a email and status update few days ago, saying that my Study Permit Extension has been approved. From my cic page I downloaded a pdf document with barcodes. However there's no instruction for me to send passport or anything. In that pdf it also says a "secured document" has been shipped to me (my application is made inside Canada). Does anyone know what is will be in that "secured document"?

I'm kinda confused and don't know what to expect next. I remembered last time when I first applied for Study Permit immediately after approval there was detailed instructions on sending my passport to Embassy and this time it just didn't happen.

i think when they say secured document, they are most likely sending you the study permit paper for you to keep in your passport.

There is no requirement to send passport when applying for a study permit extension in Canada.

if you tried opening your cic account by phone, try to do it by computer.

you should get your new study permit on the mail within 5-7 business days

Hi, thank you so much for the information! I also wonder if my entry visa need to be renewed as well? My entry visa will expire in December but I will re-enter Canada in September.

Yes you have to apply for your TRV extension too.

You can apply for a renewed TRV if you are planning to leave/re-enter Canada. You can stay in Canada with an expired TRV (as long as you have a valid study permit).
